I have had an eventful week. I had a job interview on Tuesday. I was concerned with putting the finishing touches on a perfect resume and cover letter, finding a place to print them, and making it to my 9 am interview on time. When I arrived at said interview, the lady I was supposed to meet with was not there. So my punctuality was not noted, there was a miscommunication and apparently I was 5 hours early. That's right, the man who set up my 9 am interview forgot to mention that the lady conducting the interview would not be arriving to the office until 2 pm. No real harm done, I returned for my interview at 2 pm and things went off without a hitch. Except in all the confusion, I never did give her my perfect resume and cover letter. Needless to say, I was quite peeved when I got home at 3 pm to see my beautiful resume sitting on my dresser. Oh well, the damage was done and I simply had to wait it out.

After 3 days, I get another phone call about the position and they said they had decided to run my background check. Now this may not be stressful for some people. But Lady Paranoia had me in her grips and I had all but convinced myself that I had blacked out and robbed an armored truck and would not be offered the part time position. But today I was awakened at 9 am with a lovely phone call that I have a clean record and I get to start work tomorrow!

Phew, crisis averted. Now I simply have to figure out a way to work from 9 am - 5 pm at one place, 5 pm - 10 pm at another place, and get my oil changed, brakes and air conditioner checked and a hair cut. No problem at all right, there's always Saturday. Wrong, of course Saturday is the only day this week that I open at the video store. So it looks like it will be 2 more weeks before I get an oil change I've needed since mid-July. This is where my procrastination is going to kick my butt. Hopefully having 2 jobs will help with my time management!!!

Here's how I see it. My best friend is leaving for Europe today. She will be gone for a year.
She created a blog in order to share her adventures/heartaches/thoughts with everyone who may possibly be interested in keeping up with her during this time. And I don't doubt that there will be plenty of all that. Well I'm hoping not plenty of heartaches, but definitely the other 2.

I am creating a blog to remind her of everything she is missing out on. She gets to rub it in that she's in Europe, I get to rub it in that she's not here.

I am going to post about all of the fabulous things that happen here. Of course I feel I am overqualified for this position. But someone's got to do the grunt work, right?

This is my official blog challenge to "internationally known Caroline."

I'm not entirely sure what all that entails, but we'll work it out as we go. And just remember, everything may be new and exciting in Germany...but there's lots to be said about Louisiana!

Laissez les bon temps rouler!!
