Unexpected lovers find themselves together in Spindle Cove with A Week to be Wicked —the second book in Tessa Dare’s utterly delectable historical romance series. This Regency Era delight finds a restless British lord desperate to escape the quaint and too quiet small seaside resort he’s trapped in…and he gets much more than he expected when he eagerly agrees to escort a beautiful, brilliant, socially awkward lady scientist to Scotland.
She's a geologist!! I love that she's a geologist! And I am so very very pleased that I live now and not then. For plenty of reasons. But for the fear of ruination and the being turned away from plenty of places for lack of balls. *eye roll*
Historical is not usually my jam. For plenty of reasons, but the geology here made it good. And Minerva and Colin certainly helped. They were top tier. Angst is acceptable under the guise of reforming a rake and an unchaperoned spinster traveling along the English countryside.
I could definitely see myself getting lost in Spindle Cove. I'd like to read book 1 to see if they show us the night that Colin and Minerva keep referring to throughout this story. Their first night. I'd also love to see Kate Taylor and Captain Thorne. You know, maybe I will have to visit Spindle Cove again later this year.
